The Word says that God desires honesty in our inner being “But you desire honesty from the womb, teaching me wisdom even there” (Psalm 51:6). So we need to be honest with ourselves and with God, if we want to enjoy the blessing of God. If we aren’t living the way God has instructed us to live, we will be miserable. “He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the massage God gave to the world at just the right time” (1 Timothy 2:6). There seems to be a great lack of simplicity in society today. Somehow life gets so complicated it eventually drains us of our energy and produces frustration and fatigue. “May God gives you grace, mercy and peace” (1 Timothy 1:1). The answer for the problem of wearied put through the multiplicity of our ways is to return to simplicity. We think that more is always better, but that’s wrong. “People harvest only what they plant” (Galatians 6:7). If we’re not careful, we fly through the days without taking the time to focus on what really matters most. Instead of making everything so difficult, why we don’t decide to simplify our life and enjoy the rest and satisfaction that comes through following God’s plan?
Break down an impossible task to a manageable size. Luis Brandeis said, “Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done.”
D. L. Moody once said that the Bible would keep us from sin, or sin would keep us from the Bible. That’s the principle here. As we concentrate on God’s Word and allow it to fill our thoughts, we will push away all desire to displease God in any way. We become more deeply rooted in Him.
