stay away from corrupt speech. Look straight ahead,
and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
Mark out a straight path for your feet;
stay on the safe path.
Don’t get sidetracked;
keep your feet from following evil. Proverbs 4:24-27
The Scriptures says that one of the highest priorities that we should have in our lives is to guard our hearts. Out of our hearts flows a future, out of our hearts flows our words, out of out hearts flows faith, so we must keep out hearts pure. This is important because out of our heats, both physically and spiritually, flows life. The Bible says that out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks “For whatever is in your heart determines what you say.” (Matthew 12:34). That means your words show where your heart is. Take inventory of what you are saying, watching or listening. If our hearts are poison and are not pure, it’s going to affect everything about us. We really need to pay attention to what it is inside. God created us to be happy, peaceful, loving, merciful, and forgiving. But so often, we’ve allowed wrong thinking or bad behavior to get in and pollute our water. Make sure we are glorifying the Lord with our words and actions.
I am free today because Christ has set me free! I will not allow myself to be burdened down with wrong thinking, negative attitudes, or anything that displeases God. (Galatians 5:1)
