Louis Brandeis ones said “Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done.” Mother Teresa said, “If you want world peace go home and love your family.” Here’s Eugene Peterson’s paraphrase in The Message: “Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.” Novelist Katherine Anne Porter once wrote, “Love must be learned and learned again; there is no end to it.”

What Really Matters

Jesus asks, what are you looking for? Come and see.

What are we looking for? Why we do things? What is our purpose? When are we going to start doing what we know we have to do. “So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding.” (Hebrews 6:1). Maybe we are having trouble handling it, that’s ok.
Tell God; “I’m having trouble handling it and I have to have Your help.” Why it is so difficult for us to understand all of that and choose to live in the light? We are human, but we don’t wage war as humans do. We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ” (Corinthians 10:3-5). And then we come back to the basic again and again “obedience” “our hearts”. If we are marry we know that in order to have a healthy relationship we have to treat the other person first with respect, love, and work around the his or her needs not our needs, and we do it, or at least we try to do it. So why, we do not give God what he ask for, why we have so many excuses?  Maybe we need to ask ourselves the question again! What are we looking for? ” Solid food is for those who are mature, who through training have the skill to recognize the difference between right and wrong” (Hebrew 5:14).

Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weakness, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and trouble that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:9-10). Take time to meditate in your answer, pray. “Let God transform you into a new person by changing they way you think” (Romans 12:2). If you choose God’s way, we will get God’s results: life, peace, happiness all the days of your life!

LORD, may your gracious Spirit lead me forward on a firm footing, In Jesus’ Name. Amen
