How many times have you volunteered for a task or project, gotten about halfway through, and decided this wasn’t for you anymore? We’ve all had times when we didn’t necessarily enjoy what we were doing, but Scripture tells us that we should work willingly at whatever we do. One definition of willing in Webster’s Dictionary is “prompt to act or respond.” Notice it doesn’t say,” prompt to act if it’s something you want,” or “prompt to act if you feel like it.” No, our will is separate from our emotions, and we can work willingly even when we don’t feel like it!

When you are working for the Lord, there will be a joy on the inside of you. Deep down in your spirit, you will feel a sense of accomplishment. You’ll live the best life that God intended for you. If you’ll live a focused life with your priorities in order and clear goals for the future, there’s no limit to what God will do! Your deepest desire should be to know and then to follow God’s perfect will, so that one day you can look back and say,” This is why God put me here.”

Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people (Colossians 3:23)
